Anabel Calero García won the title of Miss Tahíche 2011, in a gala that was held this Monday within the festivities in honor of Santiago Apóstol and Santa Ana.

The gala began at 9:00 p.m., with a large presence of the public, who came to support the six candidates. The young women paraded before the jury on three occasions, the first in typical costume, the second in swimsuit and, the last, in a party dress designed by Toño Aparicio.

The night also featured the musical performances of the young Inma Sepúlveda, the trio Sentimiento con Arte, the Tahíche Dance ballet and the humor of Matías Alonso.

In the end, the jury's verdict was announced. Thus, Anabel Calero García won the title of Miss Tahíche. The mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, imposed the sash on her, while last year's miss, Cristina Rojas Torres, placed the crown on her.

For her part, Uxua Lemes Gaztañeta was chosen Queen of the Festivities, whose title was presented to her by the president of the Neighborhood Association, Ramón Renda, and the Queen of last year, Laura Pérez. Finally, Aine Geary managed to be the first lady-in-waiting. The Council's councilors for Festivities and Culture, Daniel Morales and Olivia Duque, respectively, presented her with the sash and the crown.

The gala ended with a great fireworks display.
