The second heat wave of this summer is coming to the Canary Islands, with maximums of up to 40 degrees in some parts of Lanzarote, according to forecasts from the State Meteorological Agency.
These high temperatures will take place this week and are specifically expected to begin in the last hours of Monday and the first hours of Tuesday, reports Aemet.
A Saharan air mass is what will bring the heat to the island during these days. Although they anticipate that it could be a "heat wave", the Agency has added that "it is still too early to determine whether or not it constitutes a heat wave."
They also state that "it will mean a rise in the thermometers compared to the last few days", Aemet anticipates.
