Like Kevin Costner in Waterworld, three crew members embarked a week ago from France on a catamaran made in an artisanal way, in which there is no cabin to take refuge and which has a mobile phone and a GPS to be able to orient themselves.
This curious catamaran that carries solar panels has arrived at the La Pescadería dock in the capital of Lanzarote, drawing the attention of numerous curious people who have come to examine the colorful ship.
Mikel defines himself as a "builder and inventor of these boats and other solar machines", who also lives in a house in a tree. "We are looking for a new way to navigate without an engine," he explains.
This Thursday they will leave to go to Papagayo, where they will anchor for a few more days. And in the meantime, he will tour the island on his solar bicycle. "I want to live the experience of going with the bike through the volcano area," he says.
