Adolfo Luzardo, a resident of Arrecife and a second-year student of the Telecommunications Engineering Degree at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, has created a platform for students taking these studies to share their notes with others.
This platform was created in November, according to its creator, and in just three months it already has 158 registered users and more than 2,700 visits. "We are used to lending our notes, but you always have to be looking for the person physically and I came up with the idea of being able to do it online", explains this 20-year-old who also says that in a career "as complicated" as Telecommunications "it helps to share notes".
Thus, all students of the Telecommunications Degree at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria can now, digitally, access the notes of the different subjects that make up these studies, as well as share their own with the rest of the students. "This makes things much easier now," says Adolfo.
The website of this platform also has several forums on issues related to the faculty, such as "Reprographics", "Scholarships and grants" and "Job board and employment", among others. The web address of this platform, with which you can access the notes is: [telecoulpgc.freeiz.com.->http://telecoulpgc.freeiz.com./]
The platform was created exclusively by Adolfo although, currently, there is another person who acts as a moderator. "I am in charge of uploading the page to the Internet, but there is another person who is a moderator. He monitors the messages, the content of the notes and eliminates things that do not go with the topic," he explains.
Project expansion
To publicize the platform, according to Adolfo, several profiles were created on social networks such as Twitter, Facebook and Tuenti. "We added people from our faculty and sent them messages," says this young man, who says that the page "is being quite successful" and that he has already received some congratulations from close friends. "The people closest to me have told me that the page is very good and many of them have already used it to upload or take notes from other colleagues."
And precisely, thanks to the "great acceptance", Adolfo has expanded his project to other faculties of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, so that other students from other studies can also share their notes. Thus, for the moment, the students of the Faculty of Economics and Business and the Faculty of Health Sciences also have their platforms. "The project has expanded to the entire University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, giving the possibility to all faculties to create their own online notes platform," explains Adolfo.
Adolfo Luzardo is passionate about computers and, therefore, decided to study Telecommunications. "I was thinking of studying Computer Science, but they told me that Telecommunications was very good and I was encouraged," explains this resident of Arrecife, who is aware that one day he will finish his studies and will have to see what to do with the website. "If I finish the degree and that continues to work, I will not be so involved in the University to be able to carry that, so I will have to leave it to someone who is," he concludes.
