On September 6th, the VII Canine Contest was held in Costa Teguise, with a very special section: raising funds for the Sara Animal and Plant Protection Society. The race dog contest and its younger brother, the non-race dog contest, gave rise to numerous funny pictures and brought together a large number of animal lovers.
Part of what was raised by the event, specifically the registration of dogs without pedigree (5 euros), went to the coffers of the protector, along with what was collected in the raffle sale, which gave a total of approximately 120 euros.
In addition, Lanzarote a Caballo, which participated in the edition offering two of its horses to give rides to the little ones, donated its entire collection to this cause, so Sara made about 170 euros at the end of the event.
"Let our work be known"
For Flavia, one of the volunteers of the Protectora, "the important thing is not the collection, although this helps a lot. What we fight for the most is the dissemination of our cause, so that our work is known and that the largest number of people know Sara and want to get involved with us".
After the parades to decide which of the dogs was the most beautiful in both categories, attendees were able to enjoy a rescue dog demonstration (thanks to the Local Police and Emerlan) and the raffle of objects for the care of pets.
