A four-year-old girl and a woman were found dead last night in the Atlantic aboard the inflatable boat with which they were trying to reach Lanzarote along with 49 other people, as reported to Efe by sources from the Red Cross and 112 of the Canary Islands.

That entire group and another 27 people who were traveling in another zodiac located nearby were rescued last night by the Salvamar Al Nair about 55 kilometers southeast of the port of Arrecife. In the first boat, a man was evacuated by helicopter in serious condition to the Doctor Molina Orosa Hospital in Arrecife.

According to the count made by the Red Cross, the first group of immigrants was made up of 40 men, ten women and the girl, and the second, of 26 men and one woman. When the Salvamar Al Nair arrived at port, after 1:00 a.m., the health services transferred another man to the hospital.

At this time, the Guardamar Polimnia is returning to the port of Arrecife with another 51 people of sub-Saharan origin, including eight women and one minor, rescued from a third inflatable boat about 68 kilometers from Lanzarote, Salvamento Marítimo has reported.

In principle, all the occupants of the boat are fine and will arrive in Arrecife around 8:45 a.m.
