The University Foundation of Las Palmas (FULP) launches the Internship Program in African Countries for Young Talents from Fuerteventura, Lanzarote and La Graciosa, financed by the Presidency of the Government of the Canary Islands and the Vice-Ministry of Foreign Action through the General Directorate of Relations with Africa, to promote the professional integration and international development of young people residing in the non-capital islands of the province of Las Palmas.

This initiative offers participants the possibility of carrying out non-employment paid internships of 897.31 € gross/month in African companies for a maximum of six months, giving them the possibility of acquiring professional experience in the field of their degree in an international environment.

Cape Verde, Senegal, Morocco, Mauritania and Gambia are the host countries of this Program, which contributes to improving the employability of young people in the Canary Islands and promotes cultural and professional exchange between the African continent and the Canary Islands, encouraging the internationalization of strategic sectors.

The beneficiaries of this Program will have covered the costs of round trip transportation to the assigned destination, the insurance policy, visas and accommodation during the months that the stay lasts. In addition, they will take the Higher Course for the Development of Professional and Digital Skills for Employment, which is certified by the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC).

 

Who can participate?

To be part of this Program it will be necessary to have Spanish nationality or be a national of a member state of the European Union, be unemployed at the time of accepting the aid, be between 18 and 35 years old, preferably, and have resided habitually and uninterruptedly in Fuerteventura, Lanzarote or La Graciosa for the last three years. In addition, it is necessary to have a university degree, vocational training or a level 3 professional certificate.
 

This program is a unique opportunity for the development of the professional skills of young people from the non-capital islands, providing them with an international experience that will allow them to enrich both their cultural and professional training. In addition, it acts as a key platform to stand out in the workplace and facilitate their integration into the professional market.
