Two people were arrested last Monday by agents of the Local Police of Teguise, accused of an alleged crime against property (robbery with force), assault against an authority agent (attempted) and alleged crime against road safety.
The events occurred when agents of this police force were carrying out surveillance and security functions on Campoamor Avenue in the town of Tahíche. It was then that the driver of a vehicle traveling on said road disobeyed the detention orders that one of the agents had indicated and fled quickly, so an agent had to jump quickly to avoid being run over, according to sources from the Local Police of Teguise.
The same sources assure that during his escape, the vehicle reached great speed and that the driver made overtakings that endangered both the occupants of the vehicle and the rest of the road users.
Thus, his driver was arrested when he got out of the vehicle and the other two occupants, who fled on foot, were later reached. When the interior of the vehicle was inspected, a large number of objects (television, laptop, jewelry, etc.) were found and one of the detainees admitted that they had been stolen from a house located in Las Cabreras, municipality of Teguise. It was later verified that the garage door could have been forced with a crowbar.
