The Civil Guard of the Main Post of Costa Teguise has clarified a "wave" of robberies committed in the municipality of Teguise from the end of July until August 25. The robberies occurred in a total of 16 apartments and a home in Charco del Palo and a supermarket in Mozaga, although in the latter case the robbery was frustrated. The agents have arrested two people for these events, a man, with initials M.U.M., Spanish nationality and 32 years of age, and J.D.G., a 40-year-old woman of foreign nationality.
On August 16, the Civil Guard received the complaint about a "successive" robbery with force, which had been committed in an apartment complex in that area and in a private home. All of them had been perpetrated since the end of July, according to the complainant, "taking advantage of the fact that both properties were empty".
The alleged perpetrators accessed the properties by breaking doors and windows, causing damages worth 10,000 euros, explains the Benemérita. They managed to take 7 televisions, 4 microwaves, coffee makers, various tablet computers, high-end watches, jewelry and cameras for the most part. These objects were later recovered "mostly" by the Civil Guard and returned to their rightful owners.
In the same way, on August 25, the agents receive another complaint, this time for an attempted robbery in a commercial premises. "It turned out that its authors were the same ones who allegedly executed the crimes mentioned in Charco del Palo," the police force points out.
Attempted robbery in a supermarket and escape
In this case, the alleged thieves tried to commit another robbery in a supermarket in the aforementioned town. They tried to steal the tobacco machine, valued at 500 euros, with merchandise inside, valued at 1,000 euros, "posing as employees of the company that operates said machine and arguing that they should proceed to its removal", relates the Civil Guard. Their action, however, was frustrated when the manager of the store decided to call the company of the machine, "verifying the falsehood of what was argued by those subsequently arrested, who immediately fled the establishment".
The Civil Guard began from the first moment the investigations to locate the perpetrators of these robberies, after carrying out the corresponding technical-ocular inspections of the places of the events. They supported their investigation in the recordings of security cameras and in the "fiscalization and search in the market" of buying and selling second-hand or used objects.
In this way, on September 7, the Civil Guard arrested M.U.M. and J.D.G. as alleged perpetrators of the robberies with force described, passing to the disposition of the corresponding Court, in guard functions, of the town of Arrecife.
