The Yaiza City Council conveys its condolences to the family of Karlos Schmidt, a German tourist who frequented this municipality a lot and who died last Sunday at his home in Germany.
Although he resided in Cologne, Schmidt "was very loved in Yaiza and many considered him, with good reason, another resident of the municipality," they point out from the Consistory, from where they regret his death and send "their sincere condolences" to his family.
Karlos Schmidt died last Sunday, when he was about to make a new trip to Lanzarote. His travel companions were surprised that he did not arrive at the airport and decided to go look for him at home, where they found him dead, according to the City Council. Schmidt died at the age of 74, victim of a heart attack, at his home in Germany.
