The strong gusts of wind that are being recorded this Friday have already left their first incidents in Lanzarote.

Likewise, firefighters have had to intervene on a roof at the gas station on the Puerto del Carmen road and for a sign with a risk of falling in Guatiza.

Another of the actions of the Emergency Consortium has been in one of the warehouses on Avenida Marítima in Arrecife after part of the roof of one of them fell. Firefighters have cordoned off the area to ensure the safety of pedestrians.

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has raised the wind warning on the island to orange until 5:00 p.m. this Friday, expecting gusts of up to 90 kilometers per hour, especially in the Arrecife environment. Subsequently, the warning will drop to yellow, with wind gusts of 80 kilometers expected until Saturday ends, when the pre-alert will be deactivated.

Likewise, the island has been on yellow alert for coastal phenomena since this Friday, with waves of up to four meters being recorded in La Graciosa and on the north coast of Lanzarote.
