The Local Police of Arrecife carried out a search this Wednesday in a shop on Avenida Fred Olsen, as part of the operation it is carrying out against the sale of counterfeit products in the capital. According to one of the employees of the premises, the agents "have looked at the brands of the bags", but have not taken any merchandise. However, the Police have parked a van in front of the premises, inside which several boxes could be seen.

This intervention is in addition to those that have been carried out in recent weeks in different parts of the city. In one of them, the Police proceeded to seize different products from the market that is organized every week in the area of ​​the Charco de San Ginés. At that time, the Consistory already spoke of an operation that was still open, although they did not provide data appealing to the secrecy of the proceedings.

Now, while this last registration was being carried out on Avenida Fred Olsen, the City Council has sent a statement announcing a press conference for this Thursday, in which it will give an account of this operation that has been developing "for months", according to they point out, to prosecute crimes "against intellectual and industrial property."

The act where more details about the operation will be given will be attended by the Local Police Officer who carried out the operation, Miguel Hernández; the Head of the Local Police, José Antonio Lasso; the judicial expert and attached to the Anti-Piracy Commission of the Ministry of Culture of the Government of Spain, Miguel Bolaños Melián; the mayor of the Arrecife City Council, Eva de Anta; and the Councilor of the Local Police, David Duarte.
