Rescue of a young man in the Corona Volcano

The GES helicopter rescued a 23-year-old man after suffering a fall in the Volcán de la Corona, as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES).

The incident took place at 11:33 a.m. this Sunday, September 3, when CECOES was alerted that a hiker had fallen near the Volcán de la Corona and could not walk. An ambulance from the Canary Emergency Service, a GES rescue helicopter, the Emergency Consortium and the Local Police went to the scene.

The GES helicopter located the injured man and, with the collaboration of firefighters from the Consortium, proceeded to rescue him. Once immobilized, they transferred him to the César Manrique Airport of Lanzarote. There, a medical ambulance from the SUC was waiting for him, whose personnel assisted the affected person, who presented a moderate trauma to one leg. After stabilizing them, he was transferred in a medical ambulance to the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital.

The Local Police collaborated with the emergency services.
