The Civil Guard of the Main Post of Costa Teguise arrested a 44-year-old British man, with a police record for similar events, for a continuing crime of fraud committed in three hotel establishments, with the total amount of money defrauded amounting to 3775.20 euros in the town of Costa Teguise.
The Civil Guard became aware of this last August as a result of the complaint from the representatives of the different hotel complexes, in which a person was staying at the establishment and, at the end of their stay, did not pay the bill for the days they stayed there. The perpetrator of the events stayed in different hotel complexes, 14 days in the first, 3 days in the second and 15 days in the third, justifying their payment for the days they stayed in the complexes by capturing a screen in which it could be seen how the transfer had been made, but it was never executed and did not become effective, so the perpetrator left the establishments without having paid, thus incurring fraud.
The Civil Guard carried out the appropriate police investigations and various steps to clarify the events that occurred, to locate and identify the alleged perpetrator of the reported events, carrying out an arduous investigation and surveillance at the address provided by the client when checking in at the hotels, having no indication that the address was his because he could not be located.
The agents located him in a well-known pub in the town of Costa Teguise, proceeding to his identification and subsequent arrest for events that occurred.
The police proceedings together with the detainee were handed over to the Arrecife Duty Court.
