Officials attached to the Specialized and Violent Crime Group (UDEV) of the National Police Corps of Arrecife have proceeded to arrest a young man and identify another, as alleged perpetrators of the attempted robbery with violence in a supermarket in the capital last Friday, September 2.
The two people respond to the initials J.L.G.H., 18 years old, and E.R.P., 17 years old, both of Colombian nationality. The former also has a police record for mistreatment in the family environment.
The events took place on September 2, when two people entered a supermarket located on Canalejas Street in Arrecife, with the intention of taking the money from the cash register. One of them was carrying a pellet gun, while the other was carrying a knife, according to the police report.
The individual carrying the gun, who was also hooded, struggled with one of the local employees and "fired a shot", which hit the worker's "abdominal area", causing "minor injuries".
"The quick response and serenity of the workers", as the island director of the General State Administration, Orlando Suárez, explained to La Voz last week, prevented the two assailants from achieving their objective.
As a result of the investigations carried out by the National Police, the identity of the two people alleged to be the perpetrators of the attempted robbery with violence was determined, the adult being arrested and placed at the disposal of the Arrecife Duty Court.
