It was half past six in the morning when a multiple collision between four cars in Puerto del Carmen claimed the life of a 60-year-old man involved in the accident. The strong impact caused him a cardiorespiratory arrest. Among the other three involved was the son of the deceased, a forty-year-old man, who had to be rescued from inside the vehicle after being trapped by the impact. In addition, the assistance of a medicalized ambulance was needed and his subsequent transfer to the General Hospital with severe polytrauma.
The other two victims, men between 30 and 45 years old, were assisted at the scene by emergency units of the Red Cross and transferred, also, to the Hospital with polytrauma. One of them had an incisive wound on his face.
The spectacular accident, which occurred near Rancho Texas, also required the intervention of the emergency units and the collaboration of the Fire Department of the Island Council of Lanzarote.
