An Intercity Bus bus driver has suffered an attack at the Reina Sofía street stop in Puerto del Carmen. The circumstance is that it is the same stop where months ago another bus driver was also attacked.
The events occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m. this Friday, according to the complaint filed by the victim with the Civil Guard, a man of Maghreb origin who had boarded the bus minutes before at the Hotel San Antonio stop, became angry with the bus driver due to the company's passenger pick-up policy, so he rebuked him and "challenged him to get off the bus."
Next, the driver got out of the vehicle "to try to calm him down", at which point "without expecting it" he receives several blows to the face as well as to the elbows, so he had to defend himself. Later, he went to a medical center where he was treated for bruises on his face and elbow.
After being assisted at the health center, he went to the Civil Guard Barracks where he filed a complaint.
