Maritime Rescue rescued a new boat with 41 immigrants in Lanzarote waters early this Wednesday morning.

The occupants of the boat themselves alerted the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Canary Islands Government at around 00:25 hours after suffering an engine failure when they were near the northeast coast of the island.

Thus, the Helimer helicopter was activated, which located the boat twelve miles from the coast, after which the Maritime Rescue boat came to their rescue.

All the immigrants were afebrile, although one of them had to be transferred to a health center for other pathologies after being treated by the Red Cross.
