The National Police arrested a 42-year-old man of Algerian nationality with
a criminal record, in the early hours of Wednesday, after being caught stealing from Muebles La Factoría in Arrecife. In addition, the police force has confirmed that they are investigating his possible connection with other thefts committed in the capital.

"At 1:15 in the morning, we were called by Securitas Direct because the alarm had gone off and they had seen a man with a flashlight inside. We approached with the police, opened up, and found the man hidden among the mattresses," the owner of Muebles la Factoría told La Voz.

According to security cameras, the thief entered the establishment "around 1:02 a.m.". "He entered through the basement by breaking a window and was rummaging through the offices, the vans, looking for things," explained the business owner, who pointed out that the arrested man was found with "the workers' cell phones and the little loose money that was in the store," a fact that has also been confirmed by the National Police. A watch, a flashlight, and a pair of gloves were also seized from him.

The owner of Muebles La Factoría has stated that there will be a speedy trial for these events this Thursday, although the National Police have confirmed to La Voz that they are also investigating the possible connection of the detainee with other robberies committed in Arrecife.
