A 2-year-old boy has died after suffering a drowning in a residential complex in Playa Blanca. The event took place this Sunday at around 7:30 p.m. At that time, the Coordinating Center for Emergencies and Security (CECOES) 1-1-2 receives a call reporting that they had taken a child out of the pool with symptoms of drowning in a residential complex in Playa Blanca, in the municipality of Yaiza.
The SUC mobilizes a basic life support ambulance with a doctor and nurse from the health center in the area, in addition to the medicalized ambulance. Upon arriving at the scene, the paramedics find the minor in cardiorespiratory arrest who was being resuscitated by residents in the apartments. The medical team has continued with resuscitation maneuvers with advanced techniques for more than 40 minutes, without managing to reverse the arrest and confirming his death.
The Civil Guard has taken charge of the proceedings with the judicial authority with the collaboration of the Local Police.
