A truck has overturned this morning, Friday, April 14, at the height of the roundabout of the LZ-2 of Playa Quemada towards Arrecife. The driver and his companion have been slightly injured, as reported by CECOES.
The event occurred at 07.02 hours and the Emergency Consortium (alerted by CECOES), the Canary Islands Emergency Service and the Civil Guard have moved to the place.
The firefighters upon arriving at the area, found the truck overturned on the right side and pouring diesel into the road. After a few minutes, they proceeded to contain the spill with sepiolite and transfer the remaining diesel to some containers, to finally disconnect the truck battery.
Shortly after, they removed the hydraulic intakes from the rear door in order to unload the truck's merchandise, all with the help of the hydraulic separator. Once the action was completed, they proceeded to collect the vehicle data. Also the crane has arrived to take the vehicle.
Upon leaving the interior of the truck, the occupants have been attended by the sanitary personnel, but have not wanted to be transferred to the health center, rejecting the subsequent medical attention.
