Around 100 young people of Belgian origin have been expelled this Saturday from a Ryanair low-cost airline plane, when it was a few minutes away from taking off at the Guacimeta airport. Apparently, they have starred in a major altercation.

Sources from the Island Directorate of the General State Administration have explained to ACN Press that the crew alerted the security forces when they noticed that a large part of this expedition, made up of young men between 20 and 25 years old, was under the influence of alcohol.

Once the warning was given, about twenty Civil Guard agents entered the aircraft and evicted the aforementioned group, which was supposedly not in a position to face the connecting flight to the Belgian capital, Brussels.

After this incident, the 100 young people remain at the Guacimeta Airport trying to find a way to return home, because Ryanair has communicated to them the express prohibition of flying with the company ever again.

Eyewitnesses have communicated an alternative version to ACN Press, according to which the episode with the young people may have started when one of them was told that there was a problem with one of their suitcases. After a discussion, and out of solidarity, the rest of his friends disembarked from the plane and preferred to stay with him on the Island.

For its part, the company has published a statement on its website, Ryanair indicates that the incident occurred on flight FR8175 that was scheduled to depart at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday from the Guacimeta airport, in Lanzarote, to the Charleroi aerodrome, in Brussels.

Ryanair explains that the problem started inside the aircraft, when about a hundred students began to have harmful behavior, and adds that this situation forced Civil Guard and National Police Corps officers to evict them from the plane after causing an altercation inside.http://www.ryanair.com/en/notices/gops/110205-ACE_Offloads_-GB

Spanish Airports and Air Navigation (Aena) has confirmed that it received a notification for incidents inside an aircraft, but has referred any information to the Civil Guard as it is a problem outside its facilities.
