A 60-year-old man has been rescued lifeless from the sea by emergency services on Jameos beach, in Puerto del Carmen, in the Lanzarote municipality of Tías.

The event occurred around 3:51 p.m., when emergency services received a call alerting that two people were in trouble in the sea. Shortly after, the bathers were rescued from the water, but one of them required medical assistance.

Upon arriving at the scene, the staff of the Canary Emergency Service verified that one of the bathers was in cardiorespiratory arrest and transferred the affected person in critical condition to a hospital center. However, during the journey the affected person suffered another cardiorespiratory arrest from which he did not recover and died on the way to the hospital.
