Several people with functional diversity, users of different associations on the island, have been participating since October 10 in "Tradition in Action", an activity organized by the UNESCO Lanzarote and Chinijo Archipelago World Geopark whose purpose is "to value the traditions of the island and disseminate the cultural and natural heritage."

"We want to give visibility to the figure of the Geopark by supporting the dissemination of culture and bringing the work of crafts, specifically the making of rosettes, to people with different abilities," explains the Councilor of the Cabildo de Lanzarote responsible for the Geopark area, Jorge Peñas.

The associations that participate in this project, which will extend until the end of November, are the Lanzarote Association for Assistance in Multiple Sclerosis (AlanEM), ONCE, the El Cribo Association and the Asperger Islas Canarias Association (AsperCan). The activities are being developed in the different spaces of the associations, as well as in the Farmer's Monument.

“The aim is for the participants to enjoy the moment and have a pleasant and satisfactory memory of the activity; that when they hang their creations in their home they feel proud of their abilities while learning about the cultural heritage and the figure of Geopark”, concludes Jorge Peñas.
