The musical group Calicanto pleasantly surprised the audience that completely filled the allowed capacity of the Santo Domingo Convent in Teguise with their show 'Solfa'.
A show where its members shone with their own light, much more than the fantasies of their dresses where silver and sequins provided the color of these Christmas holidays. The musical direction of Vanessa Rijo, directing the voices of Sara Bermúdez and the musical arrangements of Javier Luzardo, achieved their goal with flying colors. A musical event with a constantly moving staging where for more than 90 minutes friends who are part of cultural music and dance groups paraded across the stage.
This musical project is thanks to the effort and complicity of all the participants such as the dance groups of the Guagime, Guanapay and Altaja groups, the members of the 'Peña de San Roque' Music Band of Tinajo, Raíces, the narrators Carmen Ramón and Marita Hernández, and without forgetting the magnificent Children's Choir and its narrator, undoubtedly achieving the most resounding applause with their performance in the song Ojalá que llueva café.
The members of Calicanto, who risked everything on a single card and came out very successful, infected the public with the chosen repertoire, playing different musical genres where the bolero, bachata, salsa, ranchera were present, without forgetting the song with Canarian roots such as the folía, the isa and the malagueña.
The 90 ninety minutes vanished from the public almost without realizing it and when the last song arrived, standing up, they asked them to continue, a request that was answered with a new melody. With the final photo with the entire cast of participants, the 'Solfa' project was concluded, which far exceeded expectations by shining with its own light this Christmas.
The mayoress of the Teguise city council, Olivia Duque, and the Councilor for Culture and Festivals, Francisco Javier Díaz, went on stage to congratulate them and encourage them to continue with projects like this.
