The Haría City Council hosted this Tuesday the presentation of the program of the II International Guitar Festival in Haría, which will take place from January 24 to 27 in the El Aljibe hall, bringing to the northern municipality music from the Spanish Renaissance, Baroque music and popular Argentine or Andean music, as well as exhibitions of lutherie and visual arts.
Luis Soria is the initiator of this festival. Professor at the National University of La Rioja, he has also created the Andes Guitar Festival in South America, as well as the Guitare en Cevennes festival in France. Alongside him, performers from countries such as Italy, Argentina, Spain, Chile, France or the USA will perform, highlighting the incorporation of Lanzarote musicians José Pérez and Gustavo Navarro. Admission will be free, with invitations previously collected at the northern Consistory.
The event program will begin on Saturday, January 19, at 12:00 noon, with the inauguration of the pictorial exhibition by Alejandro Sergio Sincich and the theorbo concert by Gustavo Navarro.
On Thursday the 24th, at 8:00 p.m., the official opening of the festival and vernissage will take place, with a guitar concert by Pierre Willimann, Carlos Aravena and Luis Soria, and the presentation of the figurative art exhibition by Alejandro Sergio Sincich. The closing of this second edition will take place in the Cueva de Los Verdes Auditorium.
