The Culture area of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, coordinated by Councilor Alberto Aguiar, has decided to change the online ticket sales system for the events of August and September, which until now was with the pre-assigned seat method, and begin to apply the system called "bubbles".
This system allows the viewer to choose any location in the stalls and immediately block all locations around the selected ones. This automatically guarantees the mandatory safety distance of 1.5 meters between people who do not live together.
Until now, the Cabildo of Lanzarote applied this system only for children's events, but from this Monday it will be extended to all cultural events. In addition, this format will be applied both in the Víctor Fernández Gopar Theater "El Salinero" and in the Buñuel Cinema of the CIC El Almacén.
Likewise, the system will allow the same buyer to purchase up to a maximum of four attached tickets (it is recalled that it must always be people who live together, to avoid the transmission of COVID-19), while with the pre-assigned seat system the maximum was two seats per buyer.
However, Cultura Lanzarote clarifies that this extension to four will only be applied in the Víctor Fernández Gopar Theater "El Salinero", while in the Buñuel Cinema of the CIC El Almacén, although the reservation will also be made by the "bubble" system, the maximum allowed figure will remain fixed at two locations.
The Councilor for Culture of the Cabildo of Lanzarote has explained the reason for this measure. "The reduced capacity in both spaces remains in the same figures both with the pre-assigned seat system and with the 'bubble' system, that is, 173 seats in the "El Salinero" Theater and 38 in the Buñuel cinema. But the capacity of the Buñuel Cinema is so small that we prefer to maintain the maximum of 2 tickets per person, so that no one hoards many tickets and more movie fans can enjoy the films", Alberto Aguiar clarified.
Free admission but mandatory online reservation
Cultura Lanzarote recalls that all tickets for the shows in August and September will be free, but for security reasons and capacity control it will always be necessary to reserve them online in advance. The acquisition of the same will be blocked one hour before the start of the shows. Despite being free, tickets cannot be exchanged or returned.
There will be no open box office in the cultural centers, so you will not be able to purchase the ticket upon arrival at the venue. There will be the necessary and mandatory access control, so viewers must come with the corresponding email (printed or in digital format) that proves that they have reserved their place.
Security measures to prevent COVID-19
As already announced, the use of masks will be mandatory in all shows, both for events in enclosed spaces and for those held outdoors. Similarly, it will be mandatory to disinfect hands with hydroalcoholic gel at the entrance to any of the spaces dependent on Cultura Lanzarote.
All viewers must undergo a temperature control before entering the premises. It will be mandatory to maintain a safety distance of 1.5 meters, both inside and at the time of entry and exit of cultural spaces.
In general, attendees must follow the instructions of Cultura Lanzarote staff at all times and it is advisable to arrive well in advance of cultural activities. It will not be possible to access the rooms once the activity has started.
Those interested can consult the entire cultural program and purchase tickets on the Cultura Lanzarote website.
