The Agustín de la Hoz House of Culture in Arrecife was the stage chosen by soprano Beni Ferrer and pianist Melba Artiles to present the concert called Classical Concert - Voice and Piano, held this Saturday at noon.
The event was presented by the Councilor for Culture of the Arrecife City Council, Abigail González, who thanked the public, who filled the permitted capacity, for the welcome to each of the concerts held so far on Saturday mornings and continuing in the line of having new artists in different musical genres.
Next, the soprano Beni Ferrer, accompanied by the pianist Melba Artiles, made an appearance, being received with applause from the public.
For her first classical concert, Beni chose a repertoire of Arias for Soprano from the operas of Giacomo Puccini in this order, La Boheme, Turandot and Manon Lescuat.
The interpretation and staging captured the attention of the public, who remained attentive not only to the timbre of the voice but to each of their movements, interpretive gestures that went beyond the stage.
The pianist Melba Artiles performed a varied repertoire of baroque works and pieces from Soundtracks solo, premiering a work composed by her and which she called Journey to the Starting Point.
Melba Artiles comes from a family with a musical tradition, she began her studies at the CIEM and continued at the Higher Conservatory of Music of the Canary Islands, continuing her studies at the prestigious Franz Liszt Academy of Budapest and in Madrid.
She currently combines her pedagogical work at the CIEM with concerts. When the soprano and pianist finished the concert, the audience stood up applauding and very enthusiastically asked them to continue and both presented them with the encore Balada para un Loco, by the Argentine composer Astor Piazzola.
At the end of the concert, the Councilor for Culture Abigail González congratulated the soprano and pianist for the magnificent concert and the success achieved, where the work carried out by both conquered all those present.
