The CEO of the Art, Culture and Tourism Centers, Benjamín Perdomo, and chef Orlando Ortega, presented this Thursday the new gastronomic proposal of the Cactus Garden.
Prepared by the renowned Lanzarote chef Orlando Ortega with the close collaboration of the Centers' team of kitchen professionals, the new Cactus Garden menu merges landscape and recipes. “We have been inspired by this environment to create a series of dishes that evoke flavors, smells and textures that reflect the essence of the Cactus Garden and add a plus to the degree of satisfaction of visitors to this space,” said Orlando Ortega. Thus, the prickly pear is the common thread of a gastronomic journey that offers tapas such as Chilli con cactus, the suggestive Chicken and nopal rolls, the tempting Creamy cheese and cactus croquettes, the Fresh Lanzarote cheese tacos with tender Nopalitos in olive oil, the Cheese board with prickly pear jam and the already popular Cactus Burger, among others, as well as a surprising Nopal ice cream.
The new Cactus Garden menu “is committed to the consumption of local products to favor local producers”, explained Benjamín Perdomo, “but it also speaks of promoting more sustainable businesses, of favoring the circular economy, of highlighting the talent of the excellent kitchen professionals on this island and of highlighting the benefits of a product intimately linked to this land through the magic of this space created by César Manrique”.
The CEO thanked “the effort, passion and involvement of Orlando Ortega and those who have made this extraordinary proposal possible, which, we are sure, will surprise with its quality, originality and creativity.”

Security measures
The new gastronomic proposal of the Cactus Garden can be enjoyed in total safety thanks to the protection and prevention protocols established in the operation of the Centers following the guidelines defined by the health authorities to avoid the transmission of covid-19.
