The Cabildo of Lanzarote has inaugurated this Thursday the summer program of the CIC "El Almacén", which includes four artistic exhibitions of exhibition, video creation and graphic mural that will be open to the public from 7:30 p.m. this Friday, June 9 until September 16.
"Calima purpurina", "Ataraxia", "Selfshit" and "El jardín de Verbena" are the names of the creative proposals of the artists Marina Speer, Eduardo Manrique, Moisés Fleitas and Sara Fratini, who mix the culture and landscape of Lanzarote with social criticism, through different artistic disciplines.
The opening ceremony, which was presented by José Ramón Betancor Mesa, technician of the Culture Area of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, was attended by several of the artists, who presented their artistic proposals.
A summer of creativity
Those interested can enjoy the summer program of the CIC "El Almacen", which includes the following activities:
"Calima purpurina" is an exhibition project by the plastic artist Marina Speer, curated by Lana Corujo, which proposes a different view of the landscape of Lanzarote that avoids the stereotypical image of conventional tourist postcards. Available in the Aljibe Room.
"Ataraxia" is a sample of fluid interaction by the Lanzarote artist Eduardo Manrique, curated by David Machado, which will guide the visitor on an interconnected journey through his creations through abstract compositions. Available in the Cube Room.
"Selfshit" is the proposal of the visual creator Moisés Fleitas, who one day dropped his mobile phone into the toilet and was inspired to create this video installation that shows the excessive dependence we have on mobile phones today. Available in the Dark Room.
"El jardín de Verbena" is the mural intervention of the Venezuelan illustrator and designer Sara Fratini, created specifically for "El Almacén", which collects fragments of the works of the invited authors who participate in the literary meeting "Verbena". Available in the Salita.
