José Hernández González will receive this Friday the Distinction of Memorialist of Lanzarote from the mayor of San Bartolomé, María Dolores Corujo, and the president of the Board of Official Chroniclers of the Canary Islands, José A. Luján Henríquez. It will be at a presentation ceremony at the Teatro de San Bartolomé at 8:00 p.m., to which both the City Council and the chroniclers have wanted to invite "all citizens".
This mention is awarded by the Official Chroniclers of the Canary Islands, who agreed in a past meeting to award Hernández. Their decision will be made effective in that solemn act of delivery, which will also feature a musical performance by the Guadarfía Folk Group.
"Receive in advance our most sincere congratulations on behalf of the entire Municipal Corporation, neighborhood, official chroniclers of the Canary Islands and memorialists, joining this recognition and appointment more than accredited by your career", said the mayor to the winner. Corujo, in addition, extended the invitation to the event to all residents while congratulating Hernández for this "recognition of so many years dedicated to the collection of documentation, research, participation in conferences, books and articles published that highlight our heritage history and for his active participation in the social, cultural and heritage life of the municipality".
