Last Saturday night, the residents of Altavista gathered in Los Luchadores Park to enjoy the "IV Song Festival." In this edition, a total of 11 performers took to the stage, full of enthusiasm and accompanied by a live orchestra made up of four great professionals: Alex Jiménez on drums, Rodolfo Lussón on bass, Yosán Pereda on guitar and Manuel Mauri on piano, who was also in charge of the direction and musical arrangements.
Since the first edition, the management of the Padre Claret Neighborhood Association has made a great effort to ensure that the performers are accompanied by live music, thus achieving a unique experience for the public and the participants.
The festival began with a spectacular overture by the Reinier Alfonso School, which presented the dance "Flags Without Borders." Next, the Cuban musician and singer residing in Lanzarote, a passionate about music, performed two songs: "Yo te Espero" and "Si tú no estás Aquí", receiving the recognition of the public with warm applause.
After a brief musical introduction by the orchestra, the 11 performers, all women, began to parade across the stage, each performing the chosen song and accompanied by the orchestra directed by Professor Manuel Mauri. The jury, made up of eight experts in music, choreography, styling and design, carefully evaluated each performance. Everyone was attentive to each of the interventions of the 11 performers who this year wanted to live a new experience overcoming the fear of the stage.
Once the performers had passed through the festival and during the time the jury needed to deliberate, the public was able to enjoy the guest artist from Andalusia 'Erika Leiva', popularly known as 'El Huracán de la Línea de la Concepción', a great record of awards endorse her in the different contests and competitions where she has participated, possessing some records that allow her to interpret any genre that is appreciated, highlighting the Spanish song.
Erika Leiva was accompanied on the piano by maestro José Miguel Álvarez, producer, arranger, composer of music and audiovisuals, with extensive experience as director of singers of the stature of Rocío Jurado, Pasión Vega, Miguel Ríos María Jiménez among others. The singer Erika Leiva and the maestro José Miguel Álvarez won the affection of the public who stood up and said goodbye with their applause.
Next, the secretary of the jury Domingo Cedrés Dorta presented the minutes of the jury to the presenter, who proceeded to read it before the expectation of the participants and the public, keeping a sepulchral silence, the verdict being as follows. The first prize, endowed with 500 euros, went to Inmaculada Sepúlveda, who received it from Echedey Eugenio, First Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Festivities, the second prize, endowed with 300 euros, was taken by Janet Rey and Jacobo Lemes, Councilor for Cleaning, presented it to her and the third place, which carried a prize of 200 euros, was taken by Deseada Domínguez, who received it from Mari Carmen Santa Cruz, president of the Padre Claret Neighborhood Association of Altavista.
The festival closed with the performance of the winning singer: Inmaculada Sepúlveda and her song "Así no te amará Jamás".
