The IES Costa Teguise science mini-fair received more than 500 people last Tuesday, April 18, including students, family members and the general public. This new edition of the Apañada de Ciencias of IES Costa Teguise was held again after an interruption of three courses due to the coronavirus.
This act is "one of the flagships of the center", according to the institute itself in a statement. In addition, this new edition "was resumed yesterday in style, with a great success of participation in the nearly 30 workshops organized by students of different levels and subjects, with the coordination of the teachers of the center".
Those who attended the event were able to participate in diverse proposals such as the dissection of fish and mollusks, the observation of insects, holograms or fractals. Similarly, they had the opportunity to solve a crime, participate in breathing and postural hygiene workshops, and even take their blood pressure and practice stool analysis.
New technologies were also protagonists, with examples of 3D design and printing, drones, virtual reality devices, electronic games, arduinos, etc.
Among the scientific disciplines that are part of the mini-workshop are mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, history, geography, language, plastic education. "All sciences and disciplines had their corner in the Apañada of IES Costa Teguise", they stressed from the center. Likewise, it also had photography and art exhibitions and a corner for the little ones, in a magnificent recreation of the Cueva Pintada, where they could make their own Canarian pintaderas.
It should be noted that all the workshops and projects exhibited in the mini-fair were designed and developed by the students of the institute, who also acted as monitors and dynamizers of the event this Tuesday. Along with them, the central courtyard hosted several stands in which different associations were represented such as AFOL, ALANEM, Creciendo Yaiza, El Cribo and Flora Acoge.
From the IES Costa Teguise "we appreciate the participation of all the students and teachers of the center, for their effort and involvement in this initiative, as well as the good reception it has had among families and the entire educational community." Thanks also to the Teguise City Council, the IES Haría and the AMPA Pejeverde of the CEIP Costa Teguise for their unconditional collaboration.
