The Cabildo of Lanzarote, in collaboration with the Haría City Council, have presented the project to revitalize the elderly that will be held in the municipality during the coming month of October, under the name of ‘Month of the Elderly on the Move’.
The mayor of the municipality, Evelia García, has stated that the program will include “activities that help active aging and provide this group, so important in the history of our society, with what it deserves”.
In this way, actions of leisure, sports, musical performances, humor, workshops and talks are contemplated, which will be developed until October 29.
Likewise, García has indicated that “public administrations must do what is necessary to ensure that aging is faced in the best possible way, promoting the quality of life of these people and providing them with leisure, education, sports or celebrations alternatives such as those offered by this project.”
For her part, the Minister of Social Welfare of the island executive, Isabel Martín, added that “for the Cabildo, the well-being and quality of life of the elderly is not only one of our great concerns, but they are among the most grateful.”
