The City Council of Haría will celebrate the Canary Islands Day with a meeting in which the culture and traditions of the Islands will be highlighted, through a program of activities thatcombines music, dances and family workshops. Under the slogan 'Between palm trees and volcanoes', the squares of Haría and La Constitución will host, on May 30, a fun day for all audiences, organized by the Culture area.

During the presentation of this initiative, the Councilor for Culture and Education, Paula Montero, pointed out that "this meeting will offer the residents and visitors of the municipality a unique experience in which they can enjoy live music, traditional dances and family activities in order to publicize the great cultural wealth of the Islands".

For his part, the Councilor for Festivities of Haría, Alberto de León, highlighted "the collaboration of the different groups and associations of the municipality, which have been involved in the preparation of the different performances that will take place this day." The day will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Plaza de la Constitución, with the raising of the Canarian flag, which will be accompanied by the performance of the Malpaís de la Corona Folk Group.

The program will continue in the Plaza de Haría, where different exhibitions of Canarian sports, workshops and traditional games will take place. To this will be added the presence of stands, where the attending public will be able to attend wine tastings, as well as the tasting of some of the most emblematic products of Canarian gastronomy. Likewise, there will be performances by the Municipal Folklore School and the musical trio by Alexis Lemes.

On the other hand, the celebration of Canary Islands Day will be extended to the educational centers of the municipality. In this sense, from the Education area, it is planned to carry out workshops to publicize Canarian intelligence games, as well as traditional clothing, with the collaboration of the Malpaís de la Corona Group.

Table Setting

Within the framework of the activities carried out by the Haría City Council, the Table Setting is also being developed, an initiative that consists of a decorated tables contest and whose objective is to promote the customs and traditions of Canarian culture.

The event will take place on May 29, at 8:30 p.m., in the Plaza de Haría and will feature several performances by groups such as Raíces, La Aldaba and Son del Norte.
People who want to participate in this activity must register through the Haría City Council website. The City Council reminds that the last day to register will be next Monday, May 27.
