Drag Eros is already preparing to try to sneak among the finalists of the Drag Gala of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria that will be held on March 7. With his fantasy Who says that a flower cannot be born from the heart of a volcano?, he promises to leave Lanzarote at the top in the pre-selection gala on February 14.

Aday Betancort, who is behind Eros, is originally from Teguise and is 30 years old. He has been a drag since 2017, although he has not appeared in the pre-selection of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria for seven years. "I decided to return because my husband had a dream and an illusion and I wanted to make it come true," he says.

Drag Eros' participation will be represented by Juventud Canarias, Turismo Lanzarote and CACT Lanzarote. In addition, the design will come from Jesús Casillas, Eleazar Rivero and Maison Betancort.

His goal is to reach as many people as possible so that, if he reaches the final gala, he can get that support from the public. Back in 2018 he wanted to present himself to this same Drag Gala but unfortunately he broke his arm and could not participate. "I have been seven years without returning to present myself because I wanted to bring something that was at the level of this gala," he says.

In the pre-selection, the jury will assess different aspects of the performances such as choreography and design to determine which drags are up to the task of performing in the grand final. In this event on March 7, the vote of the jury and the public will determine the winning drag, so the support of the people is also essential.

As for what his fantasy will be like, Betancort prefers to keep it to himself and surprise. "The only thing I can say is that I will try to leave Lanzarote at the level it deserves, the fantasy is very related to the island and draws on roots," he concludes.
