Cultura Arrecife launches its June agenda, which includes a varied program of activities "designed to attract a wide spectrum of the public and thus promote citizen participation in the cultural life of the municipality," says the councilor.
The activities start this Saturday, June 1, from 5:00 p.m., with the traditional making of the Corpus Christi Salt Carpets in the surroundings of the Church of San Ginés, an event that highlights local customs and traditions with the creation of these ephemeral and unique works of art.
On Tuesday, June 4, the exhibition There are exits. You are not alone, organized by the El Cribo Mental Health Association, will be inaugurated at 6:00 p.m. to be seen until the 7th at the Casa de la Cultura Agustín de la Hoz; which will also host the presentation of the book Afolín's Journey, by Lorena Curbelo and Nela Hernández, at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday the 5th.
On Thursday the 6th, a new session of the Meetings for Dialogue talk cycle will be held, organized by the Lanzarote music and dance group Los Campesinos on the occasion of their 60th anniversary. It will be titled 'Campesinos from the horizon' and will also be held at the Casa de la Cultura Agustín de la Hoz, starting at 7:00 p.m.
This same space will be the setting at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 7 for a concert by Lanzarote guitarist Diego Barber; and from 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 8 for a new session of the first cycle of dramatized concerts Between notes and words, promoted by Lanzarote tenor Pancho Corujo, who on this occasion presents The best bad girl.
The following week, the Casa de la Cultura Agustín de la Hoz will once again be the focus of the agenda scheduled for June by Cultura Arrecife with the inauguration at 11 a.m. on Thursday the 13th of the exhibition 'Ángel Guerra, a writer from Lanzarote'; and on Saturday the 15th with the 'III International Festival of Movement Arts. Move Canarias 2024'.
‘Braulio’
The day before, on Friday, June 14, a new presentation of the digital edition of the book Braulio, written by its own protagonist Braulio Betancort, a young Lanzarote man with Down syndrome and an example of overcoming adversity, will take place at the Tinasoria Sociocultural Center, in an activity that is part of the Cultura+B project.
Finally, La Recova Municipal will also have a leading role in the activities scheduled for June by the Culture Area of the Arrecife City Council led by Abigail González by hosting two concerts, both starting at 8:30 p.m. and with free admission upon reservation at tickety.es.
The first will be on Friday the 21st, framed in the Herofest band festival and will include performances by Marvel Hill (Tenerife) and Toldos Verdes (Madrid). The second will feature The Steepwater (Chicago) and Los Iguales (Lanzarote).
