Between July and September 2022, a total of 776,185 tourists visited Lanzarote, spending almost 920 million euros on the island.
That's 77% more people than in the same quarter last year. With that figure, Lanzarote experienced the highest growth in arrivals in the entire archipelago during the third quarter, followed by Gran Canaria (+72%) and Tenerife (+66%), according to data from the Cabildo de Lanzarote.
The average expenditure per tourist reached 167.47 euros in Lanzarote during the third quarter of 2022, a figure only surpassed in the archipelago by Tenerife, where they spent an average of 183.39 euros. Very close to the average tourist expenditure in Lanzarote is that made in Fuerteventura, where travelers spent an average of 166.27 euros.
Among the tourists arriving in Lanzarote in the third quarter of the year, those who spent the most were those from the Nordic countries, who spent 246.17 euros on average. Next are the Dutch, who made an average expenditure of 189.63 euros. In third place are the British, who spent an average of 173.72 euros.
Most of the tourist expenditure in Lanzarote is allocated to accommodation (43% of expenditure) and transport (36.3%). The rest is dedicated to food (12.6%), recreation (4.8%) and shopping (2.6%). Other expenses account for 0.7%.
