Iberia Express offers its customers an audacious gastronomic proposal for this summer season, both in Business and Tourist class. The airline has introduced more than 20 new references in its on-board service to continue surprising its customers with the collaboration of its catering provider DO &CO, whose main hallmarks are high-quality raw materials, daily preparation of fresh dishes, and a careful selection of ambient products.

From sirloin steak to pasta with baby squids

In Business class, Iberia Express maintains one of the most acclaimed recipes by its customers: the sirloin steak, in this case, in pepper sauce with green beans, ham and Manchego cheesecake. And it incorporates other more classic recipes such as pork cheeks with sweet potato muslin, baby carrot and broccoli; which it combines with several pasta options – such as ricotta cheese-filled pasta with artichokes, or in original dishes with baby squids –. Pasta is another of DO&CO's strengths, made daily and artisanally.

Within the lunch menu for business customers, the creamy rice with mushrooms and truffle sauce, and the salmon tartare in pepper and lemon sauce also stand out. For snacks, Iberia Express continues to opt for sausages (cured beef, pork loin, chorizo and Iberian paleta ham, morteruelo pâté, sobrasada with honey...) and cheeses from the country (Manchego, Asturian three-milk cheese, smoked cheese from Navarra, Mahón cheese) accompanied by different focaccias (rosemary, tomato or olive).

Reuben burger or Mediterranean sandwich

In Tourist class, Iberia Express once again surprises its customers in its gastroteca with the Reuben burger, one of the most popular recipes and made daily in the DO & CO catering with a tender brioche bun, pastrami, pickle, Edam cheese and pastrami sandwich sauce. For vegetarian customers, the proposal will be a delicious Mediterranean sandwich with crystal bread, grilled zucchini, baba ganoush, arugula and Feta cheese.

Both products will compete with the other two Iberia Express bestsellers: the XL hot dog with brioche bread, pickle, wine sauerkraut with bacon, crispy onion and ketchup and mustard dressing that it launched in the winter season and of which it has already sold more than 10,000 units; and the Iberian acorn-fed shoulder ham sandwich, the most requested on its flights to Europe. Surprising appetizers, Lolea sparkling wine and non-alcoholic mojito-flavored kombucha. Among its ambient products, Iberia Express has also included several new appetizers that adapt to the tastes of its customers on the different routes it operates to Morocco and Egypt, with options such as hummus, new premium brands of nuts, olives and potato chips, and allergen-free sweets.

Among the drinks, Iberia Express is reintroducing tomato juice: a drink known as "contagious" on the plane and which, when a customer requests it on board, usually causes others to do so as well. In addition, other very summery and refreshing options: from Lolea sparkling wine to non-alcoholic mojito-flavored kombucha.

A touch of Madrid at coffee time

In this edition of its gastroteca, Iberia Express adds a touch of Madrid with Guilis coffees, a family business founded in 1928 that has been dedicated to roasting coffee for almost 100 years. To accompany the aroma and flavor of Guilis coffees, the large chocolate and violet cookie, another bestseller that DO&CO makes daily and repeats in the new menu.

Better rating from customers who consume on board

The quality of Iberia Express's gastronomic proposal each season is endorsed by its customers: the recommendation index in the tourist cabin of those who consume a product on board is three points higher, proof of the good acceptance that the airline's gastroteca has.

Iberia Express is part of the Iberia Group, the leading low cost airline at the Madrid airport and also on routes to the Canary and Balearic Islands. It offers short and medium-haul flights, both to feed Iberia's long-distance network,
