A total of 668,702 passengers landed at Lanzarote Airport in 2022 from national airports, excluding inter-island traffic, according to the Lanzarote Data Center.
The figure represents an increase of 35.5% compared to 2021, but is also 20% higher than the arrivals recorded in 2019, the year of reference for analyzing the return to normality of economic indicators on the island.
The national tourist market is the one that has grown the most in Lanzarote in recent times to occupy second place only behind the British. Tourism from the peninsula is growing at a similar rate to that recorded from France and Italy, while German tourism is declining.
The months with the highest number of arrivals from the peninsula during 2022 were July and August, with more than 70,000 each. In June, September and October, more than 60,000 tourists arrived from Spanish airports.
Arrivals from national airports are currently around 50,000 people on average per month, a trend that continues in 2023, since in January of this year a total of 52,573 arrivals have been recorded.
