London's Heathrow Airport will eliminate the limit of 100,000 daily passengers at the end of this month, which it established in July to contain the disruptions recorded in the summer due to staff shortages. The decision will allow airlines to improve their offer to meet the increase in market demand, according to the news portal hosteltur this Thursday, with information from the British media the National News.

While it is true that there are currently no direct flights between Heathrow and Lanzarote, the London airport, which is the largest in the United Kingdom and the seventh largest in the world in terms of international passengers, is widely used as a stopover to reach connecting flights.

The limit was imposed due to staffing problems in several areas, including security, ground staff and baggage handling. However, reports suggest that it will be lifted at the end of the month, when the summer flight season officially ends.

A Heathrow spokeswoman quoted by The National assured that the limit imposed in July was due to end at the end of October. The measure resulted in "fewer last-minute cancellations, better punctuality and shorter waits for baggage delivery. Our idea has always been to lift the limit as soon as possible, but only if we are sure that increasing the number of passengers will not harm the levels of service achieved with the restriction."

While demand decreases in winter compared to summer, Christmas is the peak travel season during the season, with more than 108,000 passengers a day leaving the airport in December.
