The records of Lanzarote properties in the tourist rental market have grown by 82.5% from June 2023 to this December 2024. This is according to the General Tourist Registry of the Canary Islands, which collects the daily updates of extra-hotel establishments of the vacation type on the island.

The announcement of the future Canary Island law, which aims to regulate vacation rentals and contemplates complicating the requirements for new landlords, has generated a call effect and motivated the registration of thousands of homes in the last 16 months in the vacation market. This does not mean that all the vacation rentals that have been registered are developing their activity, as shown by the data of the homes registered in real estate portals such as Airbnb or Booking.

As of December 18, there are 9,487 vacation homes registered in Lanzarote, compared to the 5,198 that had been registered in June of last year 2023. In addition, registrations of tourist homes have also grown by 1.46% between November and this December 18.

By municipalities, the southern town of Yaiza has 2,700 vacation homes registered. Of these, 1,326 are located in Playa Blanca.
