Traffic at the port of Arrecife rose 11.43% in September 2022 compared to the same month in 2021, while passengers on a regular line fell 21.08%. Merchandise traffic grew 11.33% and containers 15.23%.
The port system of the province of Las Palmas, which includes the ports of Arrecife, Las Palmas, Puerto del Rosario, Arinaga and Salinetas, is experiencing overall growth of 8.73% between January and September compared to the same period in 2019. The growth is 3.08% in relation to the same months of last year.
The president of the Las Palmas Port Authority (APLP), Luis Ibarra, highlighted the statistical evolution of economic activity in all the ports, but especially in the Port of Las Palmas. The capital's port experienced growth of 28.85% in fuel supply, 39.08% in merchandise from abroad and 4.12% in rolling cargo units.
In the Port of Puerto del Rosario, traffic rose 1.57% in September 2022 compared to the same month in 2021. Passengers on a regular line fell 9.10%. Merchandise rose 1.77%. Containers rose 0.26%.
In the Port of Arinaga, traffic rose 79.09% in September 2022 compared to the same month in 2021. Last month, 22,481 tons were moved in this port.
In the Port of Salinetas, which specializes in supplying fuel for aviation, traffic fell 26.79% in August 2022 compared to the same month in 2021. This port moved 52,108 tons in that period.
