Buying a used apartment in Arrecife today costs an average of 1,237 euros per square meter, 15.9 percent cheaper than a year ago, according to a report on the sale price of second-hand homes in Spain by Ventadepisos.com

However, in the last six months there has been a slight stagnation in the fall in prices, having fallen only 1.9 percent.

Even so, the annual decrease is more pronounced than that registered in the province as a whole, where the decrease is 8.7 percent. Of the entire Autonomous Community, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria tops the list as the most expensive city, with an average of 1,929 euros per square meter, 5.7 percent cheaper than a year ago.

The Canary Islands, with an average of 1,770 euros per square meter, is the sixth cheapest Autonomous Community in the Spanish ranking, only ahead of Castilla y León (1,667 euros), Valencia (1,649 euros), Murcia (1,615 euros), Castilla-La Mancha (1,353 euros) and Extremadura (1,334 euros). On the other side of the table are the Basque Country (3,576 euros), Madrid (2,493 euros) and Catalonia (2,489 euros).

In the country as a whole, the average sale price of second-hand housing in April was 2,052 euros per square meter, with an annual decrease of 6.6 percent
