With the exception of Puerto del Carmen, all the ports of Lanzarote managed by the Government of the Canary Islands, that is, Playa Blanca, Caleta de Sebo and Órzola, experienced considerable increases in the volume of passengers during the first quarter, both compared to last year, and in relation to pre-pandemic figures, according to the Lanzarote Data Center.

Between January and March of this year, the port of Playa Blanca registered a total of 251,286 passengers, 20.7% more than those who arrived in the same period of last year. The figure is also 7.7% higher than that registered in the first quarter of 2019.

To Caleta de Sebo, in La Graciosa, 103,798 people arrived during the first quarter. This is 16.1% more than those who arrived in the same period of 2022 and 11.1% more than those who did so in the same pre-pandemic period.

The port of Órzola was very close to reaching 100,000 travelers, which represents an increase of 16.1% compared to last year, and 18.8% compared to the first quarter of 2019.

In clear contrast, Puerto del Carmen received between January and March a total of 5,530 passengers, which is about half of those who arrived during the first quarter of last year and only represent a third of those who did so in the same pre-pandemic period.
