Positioning the island and recovering the German market. That is the objective set by the Lanzarote Island Council's Tourism Board, the Foreign Promotion Society and the German tour operator Schauinsland Reisen. A new promotional agreement framed within the 2010-2011 Strategic and Marketing Plan designed by the Tourism Department of the first island institution, which has as its central axis the increase of 10 percent in the offer of air seats to the island of Lanzarote.

The signing of this new agreement is added to the previous ones with the German airline Air Berlin, the tour operator Rewe and the travel agency RTK. The Minister of Tourism, Luis Arráez, pointed out in the achievement of this project that "this tour operator is one of the most important and was in 2009 one of the German tour operators that has experienced the most growth with respect to Lanzarote".

The promotional actions that make up this agreement consist of "sending newsletters to more than 10,000 travel agencies; advertising on the TTOO website; advertising inserts with the image of the island in 30,000 ticket-booklets (travel documents); advertising in the TTOO catalogs; island posters that will be distributed in 2,000 travel agencies; and among other promotional actions, the collaboration agreement has a promotional package for the MSV Stadium in the city of Duisburg, headquarters of the company", said the CEO of the Foreign Promotion Society, Héctor Fernández, at the signing ceremony.

Gerharld Kassner, manager and owner of the German tour operator added that "currently moves a total of 600,000 customers per year, whose current figure has multiplied in the last two years." Schauinsland Reisen has more than 30 years of experience in the Canary Islands and has a network of more than 12,000 travel agencies.
