While at the state level the monthly growth of prices seems to be reversing, the monthly variation of prices in the Canary Islands between July and August has been 0.6%, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics. This figure represents an increase of 5.3% since January.
Regarding the interannual price growth, the Canary Islands marks 9.5%, being the second community that registers the lowest increase in the entire country, after the Community of Madrid. The national average stands in August at 10.5%
At national level, prices have been reduced by 0.3% in August, but still accumulate a price increase of 10.5% year-on-year. Core inflation increased in August by three tenths, reaching 6.4%, the highest value since January 1993-
In monthly variation, the CPI has fallen during the month of August in almost all autonomous communities except in the Balearic Islands and the Canary Islands, which have experienced an increase of 0.4 and 0.1 percent respectively. On the other hand, the Valencian Community and Extremadura are the only autonomies that have not suffered any variation in the last month.
