Last June, Binter exceeded the figure of 80 million passengers transported on board its planes since its creation in 1989. Less than a year ago, in July 2022, the airline celebrated the reception of its 75 millionth passenger in Fuerteventura, and this year, on April 28, it reached a record of daily passengers, transporting 19,400 people.
In addition, this milestone coincides with the fact that the company has exceeded one million passengers on its routes between the islands and its national destinations outside the Canary Islands, which began operating in May 2018 with direct flights to Mallorca and Vigo, and which have been gradually growing to reach the 15 current destinations with the incorporation this year of Granada and Ibiza, a destination with which it will begin operating on July 6.
Binter currently operates 63 air routes in which it has scheduled more than 6.3 million seats for this year. It is the only airline that flies to all the airports in the archipelago and connects the Canary Islands with 33 foreign destinations, 15 national and 18 international in Northwest Africa, France, Italy and Portugal.
The company is launching the largest summer program in its history, with more than 650,000 seats on more than 45 routes, which represents an increase of 12% compared to the summer of 2022 and almost triples the capacity operated the summer before the pandemic. Between July and August it will operate 16,000 flights.
