The Camel Herders Association of Lanzarote launches an international campaign with a message of improvement, transparency and progress achieved in its main current activity, tourism.
"We seek to make visible how the Canarian camel is preserved in Lanzarote, to inform our potential visitors of the existence on the island of one of the largest and most important herds in Europe, as well as the possibility of living a unique experience in the Timanfaya National Park, an activity that makes the maintenance of the herd sustainable and where respect for the environment and animal welfare prevails". Nearly one million impressions since the start of the campaign

The Cultural Association for the Promotion and Development of the Canarian Camel in Lanzarote ACALAN, a non-profit association, has launched this campaign in the main tourist markets of Lanzarote: United Kingdom, France and Germany.
The spot has been made visible in internationally renowned media such as: The Times, The Independent, Slate, Huffington Post (France) or The Epoch Time.
An action that tries to generate recognition and awareness, about the importance of the care carried out by the ACALAN human team for the preservation of the Canarian camel, an autochthonous species in danger of extinction.
Their daily work focuses on guaranteeing the well-being of the animals and publicizing their historical and current role on the island, especially in the Timanfaya National Park. Its president, Francisco Mesa, once again emphasizes the importance of adapting to the current market.
The main objective of the advertising campaign is to reach every traveler with a message of improvement, transparency and progress achieved for the camel ride activity. A way to ensure and preserve in the long term, the conservation of the most important herd in Europe, whose continuity is sustained primarily by its tourist attraction.
The transformation capacity of this activity is striking, which for more than 50 years, has been dedicated to proudly revealing to tourists another unique peculiarity on the island of Lanzarote, a legacy that is desired to remain for future generations. In addition, they do not rule out the opening of new facilities where you can visit and learn firsthand about camel care. Among other initiatives carried out by the association, the following stand out: the creation of a website, the optimization of the reservation center with greater functionality, precision and time flexibility, as well as access to an information channel.
In short, the Camel Herders Association of Lanzarote wants to show how camels live in Lanzarote and how their activity is developed, some data in this regard: currently there are more than 300 camels in Lanzarote, where rotation is taken care of to offer the experience in Timanfaya, prioritizing the care and rest of the animal.
Thanks to regulated tourism, today its survival is possible, beyond the tourist ride, this species has great potential in livestock production.
