The Chamber of Commerce of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, within its Dual Vocational Training program, is committed to the strategy of connecting the demand for qualified professionals in companies with the training offer in the centers of the island. In line with this, it proposed to the Zonzamas Integrated Vocational Training Center the launch of a new higher cycle of Sales Management and Commercial Spaces in Dual Vocational Training format that will begin this year and has aroused great interest in companies in the commercial sector. Among those interested is Lidl, which will offer several students a paid training contract from their first day as apprentices in the company. With the possibility of even joining the staff once the two-year training period is completed. In the Canary Islands, remuneration for apprentices in Dual Vocational Training is not yet mandatory, but Lidl has decided to take this step.

Dual Vocational Training began to be introduced in Spain a decade ago, and has been slowly implemented until now. Although it is expected that this rate of transition will accelerate in the coming years, since the new Press Release Law of the Communication Cabinet comunicacion@camaralanzarote.org Contact person: Pilar Estevan Tlf. 928 82 41 61/ 679 97 30 32 Vocational Training decrees that all Vocational Training must be Dual in Spain, as happens in a large part of European countries.
In Dual Vocational Training, students combine their training in the center with long stays as apprentices in companies, beyond traditional practices. Thanks to these periods, which cover at least a third of the total training time, students acquire a training closer to the real world and a first work experience. This multiplies their chances of finding employment compared to traditional Vocational Training.
